Berkeley FLOW is focused on helping improve campus water conservation. We will accomplish this through education on more efficient ways of using water which will hopefully help us conserve water at an individual level. We also work on raising awareness of current water conservation issues and the ways by which they affect us all. Longer term goals involve working with the administration to curb water wastage on a larger scale, hopefully through policies that will reduce water usage in the residence halls and around campus. FLOW has partnered with the Sustainability Coordinator of the Berkeley Student Cooperatives to promote water conservation. We are currently applying for a TGIF grant to install graywater systems in all of the Berkeley Cooperatives. If successful, we will begin a partnership with the Berkeley Cooperatives to involve residents in a proactive, educational project that will both conserve thousands of gallons of water and teach residents awareness of everyday measures to conserve water.
